About City Watch

The Problem

City council meetings are where the decisions that shape our communities get made. Zoning changes, budget allocations, public safety policies, development projects—these discussions directly affect our daily lives. But here's the challenge: most meetings run 3-5 hours, scheduled during work hours or late evenings when busy families are juggling dinner, homework, and bedtime routines.

The result? Important civic decisions get made with minimal public awareness or input. By the time most residents hear about a controversial project or policy change, it's often too late to meaningfully participate.

Why I Built This

I'm a parent and entrepreneur. Like many of you, I care deeply about my community but simply don't have five hours to sit through a city council meeting—no matter how important the topics being discussed.

I wanted a way to stay informed about what's happening in my city without it becoming a part-time job. I wanted to know when topics I care about—school funding, traffic safety, local development—come up for discussion. And I wanted to be able to quickly catch up on what was said, who said it, and what decisions were made.

City Watch is the tool I wished existed. Now it does.

What We Do

City Watch uses AI to transform lengthy council meeting recordings into accessible, searchable content:

  • AI-Powered Summaries: Get the key points from any meeting in minutes, not hours
  • Topic Breakdown: See exactly what was discussed, organized by subject matter
  • Full Transcripts: Search across every word spoken in every meeting
  • Speaker Tracking: Follow what specific council members or staff say across meetings
  • Keyword Alerts: Get notified when topics you care about are discussed

Our Mission

We believe informed citizens make better communities. Our mission is to lower the barrier to civic engagement by making local government proceedings accessible to everyone—not just those with the time to attend meetings in person or watch hours of recordings.

Whether you want to advocate for a cause, hold elected officials accountable, or simply stay informed about what's happening in your neighborhood, City Watch is here to help.

A Note on AI

City Watch uses artificial intelligence to generate summaries and extract information from meeting recordings. While we work hard to ensure accuracy, AI isn't perfect. We always recommend verifying important information against official city records or the original meeting recordings when making decisions that matter.
